Common Questions:

How often should I have a dental cleaning and examination?

We recommend that your child has a dental cleaning and exam every six months. If you see a brown spot on your child's tooth it's important to bring them in right away.

What will a regular visit look like?
A check-up is allotted a 45 minute appointment. If needed, the appointment may be extended. A check-up includes x-rays, teeth cleaning, flossing, fluoride, and a personal examination by Dr. George. If additional care is needed a subsequent appointment will be made.

Do you allow same day or emergency dentist appointments?
Our patients are our priority and we set aside certain times during the day for emergency visits for them.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require 24 hours notice to cancel all appointments. Please be sure to contact us if you will not be able to make your scheduled appointment.

When should I start brushing my child's teeth?

As soon as they appear.  Dental health starts the moment a tooth erupts.  It's important to make tooth brushing a habit in your family.

How often should I brush and floss my child's teeth?
It's critical to brush before bed time and best to also brush in the mornings.  Children should not have food or drink (except water) after their nighttime brushing.

What kind of toothbrush is most recommended?
It's best for children to use a soft-bristled tooth brush with a small head to get around each tooth more thoroughly.

Do I need to floss regularly?
Yes, it's important to floss on a regular basis. Flossing removes plaque between teeth where it is hard for a toothbrush to reach.  Dr. George will help teach you how to floss your child's teeth.
